Annie Besant School is named after a renowned Indian freedom struggler Ms. Annie Besant, who also worked for the women emancipation. For people like her boundaries are no bar. Ms. Annie Besant contributed her entire life for the social & ideological consciousness among the society.
She was an Irish by birth and an Indian by heart. She emerged as a light house during our freedom struggle and joined Lokmanya Tilak in Theosophical Society. Ms. Besant founded the Central Hindu College in 1898 at Banaras which later came to be known as Banaras Hindu University.
She established the All India Home Rule League in Madras (now Chennai) in 1916. Her dedication towards our country and countrymen is no doubt a symbol of passion and inner power. Her love for India was transparent and beyond doubt. She was keen that India should get freedom and should be on top amongst the nations of the world. India should regain its rich heritage and for this even sacrificing our life is worth. We are rightly inspired by her principles and services.
